Fabulous wine for the money!, biodynamically grown and delicious. I am again pleasantly surprised by the palatable difference that organic agriculture makes in wines. Note that like most organic wines, this wine needs decanting. A half hour will do, or a double decanting.
Nose: (without aeration) tin can tomato juice. Not so nice.
(after decanting) marvelous!. Gorgeous bright and ripe wild strawberries and morello cherries. Earth/black tea. Great depth, floral notes too. I could smell this all day.
palate: Replays the nose; ripe wild strawberries, some tea, rich body, soft tannins, mid acid (surprisingly low for a Chianti).
Finish: Lingering cherry pie taste. Replays the nose. Wonderful.
Make no mistake, this is a gem for the price. Novices will find it charming, more experienced drinkers will love it.
